Favorite Photos!!

The Original Holley Mountain Airpark Homestead estate, home of Jim & JoAnn Collom.

Another photo that qualifies for the top of our list is this one showing our  Gated Entry.

John & Carol Oakland are our newest neighbors on The Mountain. They broke ground for their hangar in June of '03, and before the New Year they were taxiing their Piper Dakota into their brand new hangar (below), enjoying the brisk & beautiful days of a mild  Ozark Mountain winter. Surely these have got to be some of their favorite photos!

Still more of our favorites, Joe & Carolyn Marshall's new hangar (let's sneak around the corner and take a soak in their Hot Tub <tee-hee>).

And of course Walt & Linda Petersen's splendid abode, all decked out for the Holidays!

Then there are photos like these that just seem to say something special about life here on The Mountain.

Please wait and watch the photo to the right, things are changing fast here!

Sorry, your browser doesn't support Java(tm).

It looks like Mike & Diana Foote could be the next to move in. Above, they are inspecting their brand new basement pour.

Pastoral... and proud of it!!!

Under the favorite photographer heading, Will Dawson gets our vote for the great photo of Jim and JoAnn (below), taken when they stopped by his place while riding their "Wings without the Airplane".

Of course the photo below has got to qualify as one of our all time favorites. We're early and set up for the Tailgate Party ! (from L to R:) Santa Claus... No, no, no!!! That's  Eric Archer, owner of track 15. Santa is the one on top of the truck! Then  JoAnn Collom, Sidney & Bill Collom. (Jim Collom is behind the camera.) All getting ready for the hometown team of Atlanta, TX., 34 to 0 Texas State 3A Championship Victory over Marlin, TX at Tyler's Rose Stadium, December 20th, 2003. (Eric is a bigger joker than we are!!! -- Gotcha on this one, though!!!)

Back to our roots for a minute !

When you are playing high school football in December, you have had a good year ! Then when you win the Texas State 3A Division II Championship, on December 20th, with a score of 34 to 0 you have had a fantastic year !! That is exactly what the Atlanta Rabbits did over the Marlin Bulldogs at Tyler's Rose Stadium.

I am a 1974 graduate of AHS, former player and follow the team every year. The current coach has had the team in the play-offs 12 of his 16 years there. This however is only the second trip to the state title game for the school and the only win of the state crown in school history.

Keep an eye on two other former Rabbit's currently still playing ball, Derick Blaylock of the Kansas City Chiefs and Decori Birmingham of the Arkansas Razorbacks. Also watch for some of this years current championship team players to surface somewhere, Curtis Burns, Cody McCasland, and the Washington brothers, Dallas and Fred.

We are sure proud of those Rabbs, the program, the fans and the many, many college and professional players that have come from our little East Texas town !

And of course photos like the following one, of the World Championship Chuck Wagon Races held annually in nearby Clinton, are truly priceless.

But still, the photos we're proudest of overall, are like this one that follows, because...
