Jim Collom, Ron Edwards and Christine Weiss briefly recapped Holleyfest 2003 events, acknowledging the tremendous cooperation and teamwork among all those who volunteered support in putting everything together. It was unanimously agreed that the event had played out “as much as possible” as initially planned. Even the impromptu “hold over” of rained-out activities until Sunday proved that the extra effort was more than worthwhile. And that the only significant glitch to the envisioned agenda was the inclement weather.

In light of this, a decision was made to include and annual “rain date” as a standard element of planning for the event, and to promote an automatic “hold-over” of activities to Sunday, weather requiring.

After considering comments, arriving at guidelines and much cross-referencing of schedules, the BIG decision was made to put the annual date of Holleyfest back a month, making it the 2nd weekend in October each year. That puts Holleyfest 2004 on October 8 & 9 (and 10).

It was agreed by members of the Judges Panel of the Holleyfest 2003 Digital Photo Contest that David Maier is to be awarded “First Place” recognition for one of his several entries. A Certificate of Acknowledgment, specifying the particular photo receiving this award, is to be presented to David at one of our upcoming meetings. (To peruse all entries, click here.)

Also affirmed was a schedule for Holleyfest 2004 Planners meetings, including hosts & locations for several:

• January 17, 12noon potluck lunch, 1pm meeting, Jim & JoAnn Collom

• March 20, John & Carol Oakland (Official “hangar-warming” Party!)

• May 15, Joe & Carolyn Marshall

• July 17, J.F. & Cheryl Williams

• August 21

• September 18

• October 5, 6, 7 – Holleyfest set-up dates

• October 8 & 9 – Holleyfest 2004

• October 10 – Holleyfest “hold over” date

• November 20 – Seasonal wrap-up/kick-off, “holiday party” with AR01
