Hello Friends

In this time and season that normally rings of joy, sadness settles onto the Mountain. We have lost one of our own. Mr. Bill Hastings, Linda Petersen's dad, lost his battle with cancer just after lunchtime on Wednesday, December 15th, in a Little Rock hospital. Services are to be at 10am, Saturday, December 18th, in his hometown of Searcy, Arkansas, at the First United Methodist Church. Visitation on Friday evening, from 6pm to 8 pm, will be held at the McEuen Funeral Home, 2616. S. Main St. in Searcy.

Bill and his wife Vivian moved from Searcy to their new home with Walt & Linda in April of this year, to enjoy the close kinship of family and allow for their better health care. Bill was 81 and was a retired Federal Administrative Judge.

As we become accustomed to having certain things going on around us and start to think of them as the standard way of life, Mr. Bill's golf cart trip to the Mail Center every day was a pleasant element of everything that is precious to us. He was family to us all. He was a true statesman and the kindest heart of many a man. Mr. Bill will be dearly missed.

With affection,
Jim & JoAnn Collom
