Horseshoe Bend (6M2). Karen's Kitchen.

The airport is about 47nm to the northeast of Holley Mountain. It has a 4500ft runway and the restaurant is just across the street from the field.
AOPA Flight Planner shows how close it is. We'd be flying past Mountain View and Melbourne which made good visual waypoints and also good places to land if necessary.
It was a sunny morning but an inversion reduced the visibility to about 4 miles. Ten of us loaded up in 3 aircraft and departed about 11am. We were all VFR, each with different altitudes and airspeeds but we managed to arrive about the same time.
Short final in the Stinson. Viz was poor but this pic makes it look worse than it was.
A minute later and we're all sitting down. Some are having breakfast and some lunch. The food was great and the service was also. Like a friendly mom and pop operation. They even have a wall next to the entry with pics of many pilots and their planes that are frequent guests.
I convince everyone to pose for a pic for the website. I never thought they'd agree.
Walking back to our trusty steeds as the sun tries hard to break through. We stopped briefly to look in the small (we had to take turns to check it out) but well equipped pilot lounge.
Over the lake on departure. This is really a pretty spot. I bet the residents don't want anyone to find out about it.
This time I'm in the back and hoping these guys know what they're doing!
Bogey at 9 o'clock. C'mon Mav, do some of that pilot stuff!
Surrounded by bogeys.
We managed to find White River airport (AR64). This is a private grass strip.
And finally passing by Mountain View airport. We were back by 2pm and I think everyone had a fun time. I know I am looking forward to the next adventure.
