The Holley Mountain Airpark fire
Department loads water into the
Arkansas Forestry Services' Air Tanker.

In training exercises on January,
20th 2006

We don't do anything small here at Holley Mountain, and we believe in
taking responsibility for ourselves and being good neighbors. That's why
we have our own fire department!

We're trying to protect ourselves from any troubles
that could occur,
and just when you think things are under control?
It's best to be prepared!

"Just added to our fire department is a 1992 Amertek Crash Truck
(pictured above) provided by The Arkansas Forestry Comission".

New Engine # 1 is a 1,500 GPM Grumman Duplex Pumper
"Hydro Express"
with onboard full foam firefighting capability.

"Ole Yellow" Our newest (below), 1,250 GPM Pierce Pumper.
"Progress Again."

HMAFD receives it's Official
Arkansas Fire Academy I.D. Number 71017. Like our airport identifier
number (2A2) it's the same from each end.
Another Upgrade (below)

| We continue to improve all
aspects of Holley Mountain Airpark, including a strong dedication to
family safety! With our Newest Pumper we now have a total in house
pumping capacity of 5,400 GPM. At
right: Photo taken by Airpark Guest, Barbara Putnam, during a changing
of the Rotating Beacon Bulb from the bucket on Snorkel 15. |

It's not only the equipment &
communications system upgrade. HMAFD is proud to announce and
congratulate the 23 members that just completed Basic Fire Fighting 1
provided by the Arkansas Fire Academy and taught by our very own Clinton
resident, Lee Threadgill. THANKS,
Lee
The
Dan Davison Emergency Center
(below) is home base to Holley Mountain Airpark Fire Department vehicles
and equipment. The facility also serves as a community meeting room.

"Our fleet has just about outgrown the house"

But not quite, with only inches to spare for
our Pierce Aerial truck "Reaching to Save"

Engine #3 "Classic Express" but a good one.

Crash #1, equipped with extraction equipment and pyrocool firefighting
agent.
And while we stand
ready to address the unexpected, what we enjoy most is making the
equipment useful at community events.

Of course Snorkel 15 doesn't always just get to
play at the park!

Tire store fires can get really bad,
however swift actions by all Fire Depts involved stopped this one quick!

Photos above, at right, and below were
taken during the fire at Bob's Auto Tire Store in Clinton and were
provided to us by Keith Parish, Fire Chief of the Bee Branch, Arkansas,
Fire Department.
Thanks Keith!!!
Did you notice? The boom decals almost
look like a neon sign!
A total of nine engines responded to
this fire call! You could have canoed the front parking lot! Any other
attack would have been taking a knife to a gun fight!!!!
