We had an excellent turnout for the event that was hosted by Joyce and Craig in their newly finished hangar. Everyone sat down to a BBQ meal that was preceded by some tasty snacks.
After dinner, presentations were given to all those who contributed to the successful ISO 1 rating. Craig and Mike MC'd the event.
All in all about 60 people attended, many from outside the airpark as well as nearly all current residents and some owners that are not yet residing.
Jim Collom accepted several recoginition awards for all the hard work he contributed to the ISO rating. Without him Holley Mountain would just have the standard issue 9 rating. It was his dedication that pushed the rating from an initial hopeful 5 all the way to a 1. HMAFD is now the first and only fire department in Arkansas to have a 1 rating and the 52nd rating 1 in the entire country out of over 46000 departments nationwide.
There was even a special cake to celebrate. Half vanilla and half chocolate. It disappeared quickly.
Everyone on the all volunteer department received an award for their contribution. Gold fire trucks all round!
Our training officer Lee accepted a special award for all the time he spent with training everyone.
And Lee's assistant Jeana also received a special award.
Glenda and JoAnn received awards for putting up with their respective husbands!
Carol and John received a special award for their dedication to training and on duty time.
Fred and Sid received a special award for always showing up for weekly training each Friday.
Harold and Dixie received the award for furthest distance traveled for an alarm.
Billy received a special award for being the best all around fireman.
John and Carol spoiled everyone with custom HMAFD jackets. We were all blown away to receive such a nice gift and we all thank them both very much for their generous contribution.
After the presentations there was music and even some dancing. Bob and Cindy strut their stuff.
The Firehouse Four comprising Bill, Sid, Billy and Fred entertained everyone and also had many others join in.
Thurman suprised us by joining in on the guitar and did a fine job also.
A great evening was had by all.
