NEWS, July 2003
A good time was had by
all who attended the May 17, 2003, USPA AR01 Chapter meeting, hosted by
Joe &
Carolyn Marshall, in their (rather spiffy) hangar at
Holley Mountain Airpark.
Key items of business
included the election of officers to the 2003-2004 term, commencing July

In other news worth
knowing, AR01 President and Holley Mountain Airpark developer, Jim Collom,
recently gleaned media attention along with a list of other volunteers who
donate time, raise money and often must sacrifice time that would
otherwise be spent with family to support of the HAM “weather alert”
Skywarn communications networking system. For more info about this,

Thirdly for this time
around, Jan at USPA reminds us that NOW is the time
to make deposits to attend special Branson events during the USPA
quarterly meeting, coming up early in September.
And please note that to qualify for the "special discount" LaQuinta hotel
group rate, reservations must be confirmed before August 1st.

A fourth item of
interest, plans for Holleyfest 2003 are coming together very smoothly. A
recently updated Program is
here, however
there is news so new that it is not posted to the program yet! Two points
here to make special note of: Boy Scout Troop 29 will be doing the
Presentation of the Colors for us, and AirEvacMO is planning on bringing a
chopper in!
Lastly, plans for the
next Holleyfest planners meeting are being confirmed now with the date
(tentatively) confirmed for August 16. Also, the regular quarterly meeting
of AR01 will convene concurrent with Holleyfest, September 12 & 13, 2003,
at Holley Mountain Airpark.
