We had a great time
Saturday (February 15) and this note will catch you up on AR01 and
Holleyfest:
The next Holleyfest Planners meeting will be held this coming Saturday,
February 22, 1:00pm at Walt and Linda Petersen’s (brand new!) home at
(where else?) Holley Mountain Airpark!!! Need directions? Please call me:
501-723-4322 (or call Linda or Walt, direct!). And while every Holleyfest
strategy session is important, this particular get together is “the”
cornerstone of program development for this coming year and will also set
the stage for Holleyfest 2004. Your personal participation is vital to our
shared success!!!
As to the AR01 meeting we had last Saturday, to those of you who missed
our scrumptious lunch, great conversation, and rollicking good cheer… the
rest of us say “we missed you” and “we hope you’ll join us next time.” For
your consideration, the minutes of our business meeting are
here and the thumbnail is 3-part:
#1 – A volunteer is wanted and needed to serve as the official AR01
representative to attend quarterly (fly-in) USPA Board Meetings. Travel,
lodging and meals are at your own expense, however many if not all of
these costs qualify as legal tax deductions. The next meeting is being
held February 27 through March 1 in Baton Rouge, LA. Additional USPA
meetings this year are on May 1, September 4, and October 30. And, as Jan
Hoynacki, USPA Executive Director, said: “Of course, we would hope that
even more than one person would come. I'm sure you realize that ALL USPA
members are invited and encouraged to attend. This would be a very good
time for AR01 to be introduced to the USPA Board and members in
attendance, and have a good time, too.” So if you could be easily enticed
to fly south for some fun this coming weekend, please contact Jim Collom,
AR01 President, to confirm your appointment as the AR01 USPA official
representative!!! (Then email Jan

#2 – The next regular meeting of USPA Holley Mountain Chapter AR01 will be
held April 19, 2003, at a time and location to be announced. This will be
our ANNUAL MEETING and ELECTION OF OFFICERS. A nominating committee has
been appointed (see minutes) and if you have a powerful desire to
serve in a leadership role of our organization, you are encouraged to step
forward. In addition, nominations may be made by the general membership in
accord of AR01 by-laws.
#3 – Additional quarterly meetings for USPA AR01 have been calendared for
the balance of 2003, to be held September 13 (in conjunctions with
Holleyfest) and November 15.
