I. Call to order

Meeting was called to order by Jim Collom at approximately 12:15pm. All officers were present save Timothy Posey who expressed regrets. The presence of a membership quorum was established and introductions were made all around. Several guests were in attendance, including Holley Mountain Airpark's newly welcomed development manager, Bill Collom, family members of Keith & Mary Wingad, Airpark neighbors Thurman & Violet Elliot, Linda Petersen’s parents, and noteworthy representatives from the FAA, Caleb B. Rice and Mac McFarlin.

II. Reports

Motion was made by Cheryl Williams, seconded by J.F. Williams, to approve the Minutes of November 22, 2003 and Minutes of the unofficial February 21, 2004 meeting as previously distributed. Motion carried with all in favor.

 

Joe Marshall reported that the Treasury holds $284.15, the accrued amount of turn-back dues from USPA membership fees to AR01.

 

III. Old/New Business 

Motion was made by Eric Archer, seconded by J.F. Williams, to resolve July 17, 2004 as the 2004 Annual Meeting of Holley Mountain USPA Chapter AR01. Motion carried with all in favor.

 

Motion was made by Dave Maier, seconded by Jim Collom, to appoint Greg Smith and Ron Edwards as the AR01 Nominating Committee to present a slate of candidates for the AR01 offices of President, Vice-President, Treasurer, and Secretary, with said Officers to begin service upon election at the AR01 Annual Meeting, July 17, 2004. Motion carried with all in favor.

Jan Hoynacki, Executive Director of USPA, accompanied by USPA Past President Paul Hough, and member J.C.  Zalog, presented a framed “Chapter Certificate” to Jim Collom, accepting on behalf of AR01. Hoynacki briefly recapped USPA goals, objectives, current projects, and upcoming meetings.

 

The "Private Seller" tax regulation issue was not discussed as Jerry Conner was not in attendance. Jim Collom and Joe Marshall agreed in the hope that the cell phone tower encroachment “is a dead issue.” Ken Sowers volunteered to attend the next USPA Board Meeting as an official representative of AR01. The USPA “model policy,” re: “airport zoning,” was not discussed. The AR01 meeting schedule for 2004, as follows, was confirmed:

V. Call to Adjourn 

At approximately 1pm, a Motion was made by J.F. Williams, seconded by Joe Marshall, to adjourn.
